This stunningly beautiful border is based on delicate 18th Century lace patterns and interpreted for today's classic contemporary styles by Henny Donovan - another of her stencil innovations.
The Lace Border & Corner Stencil is perfect for traditional homes with modern styling, modern New England and Swedish styles and contemporary country style. This stencil can be used to create intricate damask effects on walls, and fabrics and for adding beautiful painted effects on floors.
The design itself is very versatile and can be used in a multitude of different styles and formats - as our illustrations show. The border motif can be repeated to any desired width and used on its own or with the corner motif. The corner motif can be used in conjunction with the border or on its own as an individual random motif or repeated symmetrically or rotationally as a central motif on floors or linens.
For walls use at ceiling height, dado height or above skirting boards - using the stencil facing up or facing down. A host of colour applications can be used stencilling in white or pastel tones on mid-coloured or darker coloured backgrounds; or stencil in chalky pastel shades or bold colours on white or pale tinted backgrounds. This design will lend itself to a wide range of colour applications for walls appearing soft and lacy in chalky pale tones and crisp and defined in more contrasting colour combinations. This stencil also works extremely well on voile curtain panels to create a lace effect - use pale shades of buff, stone, grey or cream on natural coloured fabrics to create a soft lacy look. Try mixes of our fabric colours using White Lace with Spring Moss, Rembrandt Brown or Black Velvet for shades of buff and grey. Or for a damask effect stencil onto linen or cotton for tablecloths and bedspreads in soft subtle shades for understated effects or more contrasting colourways for crisp elegant style. The Lace Corner & Border Stencil is perfect on floors - particularly painted floorboards. Sesame, Shoreline, Latte and Mocha Stencil Paints all look fantastic stencilled on white washed or chalky grey painted floorbaords. Or use Ice White, Duck Egg or Estuary Grey Stencil Paints on black, charcoal or navy painted floors for dramatic, graphic effects.
Use Stencil Sponges or Stencil Brushes for stencilling or for ease of stencilling, particularly on walls and floors, use our Stencil Rollers - rollers help build up paint opacity well without needing to use wet/thick paint.

The border motif measures up to 62cm (24 1/2") wide x 18.5cm (7 1/4") deep with one wide repeat on the sheet, as ilustrated below.
