Introducing the Large Buttercup Stencil - a stylishly simple, modern design based on everyone's childhood favourite - the buttercup.
Henny Donovan has developed this oversize contemporary design of this well-known flower. This is an extremely versatile design, which can be stenclled as a single flower or in groups or as a modern random repeat.
This Large Buttercup Stencil is brilliant for creating great random wallpaper effects on walls, feature panels, and repeated on fabrics and bedlinen, or as individual motifs on cushion covers and much more.
The Large Buttercup Stencil comes in three separate sections/sheets to allow you to arrange and design the buttercup flowers as you choose, to fit your specific space. The buttercup flowers can be used with the stalk motifs to create tall growing flowers in a host of different arrangements. The flowers and stalks can be placed so that the buttercup appears as a single flower as a slitary feature or in a row; or the different flower heads can be grouped with the stalks together to create the look of flower 'bunches' - see our different examples to the right for ideas.
Alternatively you can also use the buttercup flowers on their own as a randomly repeated motif to create a stylish, contemporary wallpaper effect or repeated design on fabrics. When repeating the flower motif you can space the flowers further apart for a simple more sparse feeling or closer together for a concentrated pattern effect. You can also alter the pattern order to keep the effect random and irregular, or repeat in the same order for a regular pattern repeat.
This design works well stencilled in different colours and single colour palettes on white walls, or in white or pale colours on coloured painted walls. The design can be stencilled in pale, muted colourways for an effect that is subtle and discreet, or bold, striking colours for contrast and graphic appeal. Stencil Rollers make stencilling this stencil even easier, particularly if you are stencilling white onto deeper base colours - the roller will help to build opacity.

The largest buttercup flower motifs are 32cm (12 1/2") and 31cm (12 1/4") wide.
The medium sized flower motif is 21cm (8 1/4") wide.
The smallest flower motif is 14.5cm (5 3/4") wide.
The 2 half-flowers are up to 14.5cm (8 3/4") tall.
The grass-stalks are 15cm (6") high.
The two taller flower stalks (made of two parts each) are up to 55cm (21 1/2").
The single flower stalk is 40cm (15 3/4") high.
