Damask is at the height of fashion and creating your own handpainted wallpaper effect will create the highest quality look you can have.

This is a simple to use Oversize Damask Stencil on just one large sheet. Based on our smaller Damask Repeat Stencil - here we have taken both layers of the original stencil and combined them to create this design on just one layer, which is easier to use and the design is at once bold, but with a slightly lace-like effect.  Very beautiful, modern and stylish - a really up to date rendition of a classic theme.

Traditional damask designs first came into English decorating fashion in the 18th century in both wallpapers and fabrics and today look stunning stencilled with both classic and contemporary colour schemes. 

Stencil the Oversize Damask Stencil in Metallic Stencil Paint or Interference Paint on matt walls to create a lustrous shimmering effect, which give a truely damask style - different textures highlighting the formal repeat pattern.

Or use tone-on-tone colour schemes - where you use a matt wall colour and then stencil in Acrylic Gloss Varnish for great subtle effect or stencil in the same colour, just lightenend by one tone.  Very subtle and sleek - a modern interpretation of a classic.

Or use bold colours or strongly contrasting colours for graphic contemporary style, such as white on black/charcoal or black/charcoal on white (very in); or try a dirty ivory colour on bitter chocolate brown. Or for a different, more chinese style stencil in China Blue on white or pale grey (see illlustration right).

This repeat design is perfect for both walls and fabric, looking stunning as a hand printed wallpaper effect and as a continuous pattern repeat on drapes, blinds and other linens. Use either Stencil Paints or Fabric Paints.

Large one layer repeat stencil. One repeat of the design covers an approximate area of 73cm (28 1/2") wide by 60cm (23 1/2")") high at its widest points. Sheet size is 82cm (32 1/4") x 66cm (26").
