Acrylic Varnish & Glazes

The Motif quick drying acrylic, water-based varnishes and mediums, are non-yellowing, odourless and dry to a clear finish. Acrylic Varnish comes in Matt, Eggshell (satin) and Gloss finishes and is ideal for sealing hand painted or stencilled areas, or for protecting freshly painted walls, without changing the colour beneath. 500ml covers an approximate area of 6 to 7.5 sq metres. Try the Pearl Shimmer Varnish, a pearlescent metallic over-varnish, for a lustrous finish. Acrylic Scumble Glaze is a colourless medium used to create faux finishes and paint effects. All of these products can be coloured with Universal Tinters, or artist's acrylics. Matt varnish is also available in a handy touch-up 100ml size. See below for more information.

. NEW SIZE - 100ml Matt varnish. A handy sized touch-up pot and also excellent for sealing the edges of tapes prior to painting for creating crisp painted edges, with no bleeding.

. Pearl Shimmer Varnish is best applied over light painted colours with a Large 4" Synthetic Paint Brush (click on link for synthetic Sprig Elite Brushes). If Pearl Shimmer Varnish is to be applied over darker colours pre-tint the varnish with one or two teaspoons of the base paint colour, to prevent streaking.

. When using Acrylic Scumble Glaze allow glaze work to dry and harden for 24-48 hours and then seal with Acrylic Varnish.
